No matter how you look at it
MOM is the same from the front or back
but if you turn it upside down
you’ll have a WOW attack
Moms are amazing,
they always do so much
and their power and strength
are guided by a gentle touch
Moms know how to get things done
- and there’s always so much to do
Moms are also innovative
and use their creative flair, too
Moms are miraculous,
fantastic women full of WOW
that give so much every day
so let’s celebrate them now!

Sometimes mothers make mistakes
…quite unintentionally
They worry, they smother, they hover, they pry
to the point where kids are not free
Free to explore and learn on their own
…make mistakes, and correct their course
To limit themselves and learn how
to use their strength, but not to force
Sometimes mothers mistakes are big
other times they are small
But one thing that remains
is their love through it all
They may not know how to show it
in a way that says to their child
Their love is unconditional
- even when things get wild
Sometimes mothers make mistakes
…as all people do
So when others make mistakes,
how will you let it affect you?

What brings a mother joy
can change much like the tide
or it can change slow like the seasons
or quick like the blink of an eye
In birth it is her baby’s cry
and then her baby’s touch
…sweet, simple, little things
that mean oh so much
Then first smiles, first laughs, first steps
…all those famous firsts
that bring mothers joy
and quench their love’s thirst
As time goes on, children change
they grow so big and fast
and mothers find joy in the pride they have
…pride that will always last
A mother’s joy continues to change
as the years pass on by…
sometimes silence is her joy
it can also be a good cry
But things that always bring mothers joy
- hugs and love and laughter -
from her children – at any age
that will live on forever & after
No matter what life throws her way
a mother can always depend
on the joy that lives in her heart
and love that never ends

A mother’s greatest gift
are the children that are born
out of her labor o love
…where scars are created & worn
With pride and with glory
a mother understands
that her greatest gift
comes with the smallest hands
That will grow over time
into so much more
…time which passes quickly
but allows a mother to adore
Every phase of life
and the trials…and the joys
of having and loving
little girls and boys

Mother’s touch can be gentle
or it can be firm & strong
But it is always guided by love
and so many feelings follow along
Her touch can mean I love you
it can convey her pride
It can also mean I am here
…right here, by your side
Mother’s touch is reassuring,
full of comfort & care
It’s mother’s way of saying
she will always be there
In person or in spirit
a mother’s love lives on
And her touch can be felt
long after she is gone

When mothers pass away
the loss is so immense
with feelings often overwhelming
and sadness so intense
Never again will her touch be felt
or her voice be heard
never again will her smile be seen
there really is no word…
Words simply cannot convey
enough to describe the pain
that washes over a family
as the tears fall like rain
The water from the tears
can cleanse & refresh the soul
and in time the heart will heal
though it may not feel whole
But over time the missing piece
will slowly fill back in
as memories of mothers who’ve passed
are replayed again and again
It is good to allow yourself
to feel the sadness & grief
and even so, it’s good to let go
and allow yourself some relief
Memories don’t cause pain
we choose what we feel
we can choose to burden ourselves
or we can choose what is real
And remember times that were happy
with a smile upon our face
for though a loved one may be gone
the love cannot be erased.

There once was a woman named Mom
Who held the whole world in her palm
Even her kids sang her praise
Joy & love blessed all her days
A beautiful Mom, full of aplomb.

There are Mothers…and there are Grandmothers,
Mothers who are Grand
Mothers who’ve seen their children have children
And so they understand…
That motherhood is special,
Motherhood, in fact, is grand
And as we all grow older
The time just spills like sand…
Falling through an hourglass
Or slipping through our hands
And though time passes fast,
Each minute is a gift, and it’s grand…
When enough time has passed
To earn the badge of Grand,
Every day is a celebration
All over Grandmother Land.

Mornings in motherhood
come early and quickly pass
but if you pay close attention
you can make the good moments last
The snuggles, the kisses, the hugs
from sleepy little ones
who are ready to start the day
- to wake up, play & have fun
Enjoy the moments while they last
so the memories can stay with you
while the reality changes & kids grow
and there’s nothing you can do
To stop time…it always goes
sometimes way too fast
but when you cherish the present
you can make it last
Enjoy your mornings as best you can
- it’s so nice to start the day
on a positive and happy note
before we all go on our way
Motherhood mornings are blessedly busy
as is every part of motherhood
so just take a moment each day
to soak up all that is good
And let everything else fall away
for what you focus on, you get more
so focus on what you want
- the blessings, not the chore
