My baby boy…growing fast
how quickly the years have sped past
And yet how slow they seem to go
as I cherish each stage – watching you grow
From baby to toddler, and now my little man
who still loves to snuggle, and so I can
Thank you for giving me your eyes to see
all the wonder & beauty surrounding me
Thank you for teaching me patience…with patience
in all my endeavors and all my relations
Thank you for helping me remember the important things
like love & laughter and the smiles they bring
I love you, son, and I always will
I appreciate you, too, for the joy that you fill
My heart & soul up with each and every day
just by being you – not what you do or say

To make me laugh

When you tell yourself you’re not good enough
When you believe that life has to be rough.
When morale is low and stress is high
And you try to smile, but instead you cry.
When you’re ready to start throwing a fit
Stop, you must, for it’s time to quit.
Don’t hang on to those limiting beliefs
That weigh on your heart and cause you grief.
Sometimes quitting is the best thing to do
When sticking it out is torture to you:
Don’t keep taking on the opinions of others -
Even if they are your friend’s or your mother’s.
Stop trying to be someone you’re not -
Or the world will lose the only you we’ve got.
And when you’re stuck going round & round
Stopping the process can be profound:
So when you’ve finally had enough of it
That’s when it’s time to QUIT!

Can you feel the feeling you’re feeling right now?
Can you let go of wanting to change it somehow?
Can you feel how simply allowing the feeling to be
Has the amazing power of setting you free?
You can create the great things you want in your life
But not when you’re hanging on to pain & suffering & strife
In fact, don’t latch on to any of your feelings
No matter how complex or elusive or appealing
Your feelings are emotions – always on the move
But hanging on to them doesn’t keep you in a groove
By holding so tight to what you’re feeling right now
It’s like saying you’re afraid you won’t feel it again somehow
So remember that everything is simply a choice
And inside you may be hearing more than one voice
But you will always stay true to you
If you follow your values in whatever you do
And whether something is working or not
All that matters is whether you gave your best shot
You only get but one shot at living
So live and give what you want to be giving
For when your time on earth expires
You’ll want those who live on to be pushed higher
By their memories of you & what you gave
Your love lives on when your body’s in a grave
Your legacy is what you leave behind
And it can be tarnished or it can be shined
By the life you live while you’re alive
You can settle…or you can strive
It’s up to you, it’s your choice
To tap into your strengths and your inner voice
Or listen to what other people have to say
You can follow the masses or go your own way
Blaze your own trail, let your light shine bright
Let your journey be a beacon in the darkness of night
Live a life to be proud of, live the best you know how

If your life is passing by so fast
That you can’t see what you’re driving past
Take your foot off the gas
And make this moment last
Stand still and close your eyes
Try to balance and recognize
What are you doing while you stand?
Are you pushing or pulling or devising a plan?
If you cannot stay present in the moment you’re in
You’re battling life, and you’ll never win
For looking to the future or to the past
Causes stress and worry to come up fast
And life can throw situations at you
That will consume your energy if you allow them to
But you can maintain balance if you release & let go
Of any unnecessary drama as it starts to show
When what you’re doing is full of commotion
Then who you want to be is overwhelmed with emotion
So let go of the actions that are not serving you
And you’ll be amazed by the balance when you do
Let go of perfection and just do your best
For perfection is a fantasy that won’t allow you to rest
And let go of any grudges you’re holding on to
With forgiveness you’ll find freedom you never knew
Remember that you alone have the key
To empower yourself and set yourself free
You have the choice, you have the power
To create the balance you want every minute, every hour
Don’t let the myriad of choices weigh you down
It’s simple – you can either smile or you can frown

rather than accept it like many do

when the characteristics they display
are present in their actions
as well as what they say
Leaders live their vision
with courage and creativity
their enthusiasm is contagious
as is their humor & integrity
Smart leaders know the secret
that with acceptance, people thrive
so they give people permission
to let their authenticity drive
People will drive in the direction
of passion, for it’s contagious
as long as it’s founded on trust
and isn’t too outrageous

the abundance will be clear
- and in return for your gifts
your heart will fill with cheer
when you give without expecting
anything in return
- you often get more than you give,
whidch is a great life lesson to learn
Another lesson to remember
hinges on your attitude
- your attitude about money
affects your financial altitude
When your attitude about money is negative
you’ll probably struggle with it
- but a positive attitude
can bring great benefit
Every dollar comes into your life
for a purpose and period of time
- so have discipline with your dollars
and your life can be divine
