Fear

When do you feel fear?

What are you afraid to do?

What is it you imagine

That will happen to you?

Are you terrified of failure?

Are you scared of possible loss?

Are you worried of what might happen ‘if’?

Are you letting your fear be the boss?

If you let the fear control your life

You’ll stay right where you are

For ‘nothing ventured, nothing gained’

But action can take you far

When you feel the fear and do it anyway

You’ll be amazed at what you learn

The fear will turn into excitement

From paralysis you begin to yearn…

For the rush of adrenaline

And the feeling of success

That comes from confronting your fears

And achieving – more or less…

Than you ever imagined possible

And through it you survived

By facing your fears courageously

You’ll find that you have thrived

But if you let fear stop you

What will you have to show?

For the life that you dream of

Is one you will never know…

Thoughts…

I feel uplifted when I see

All the beauty surrounding me…

The greenest grass, the sweetest rose

The joyful laughs and thoughtful prose

The taste of chocolate, oh so sweet

Has the power to lift me off my feet

When I think back on memories

I feel the world embracing me

While I’ve known pain, I dwell on the pleasure

And I’ve felt sadness, but focused on the treasure

The lessons learned, at so little cost

For I am still here, and no longer lost

I know my purpose, know why I’m alive

And as long as I am, I will continually strive

To be the best I can be, and help others, too

For what would life matter, with no one to share it with you?

Lean Into It

Sometimes you don’t want

To make the first move

Sometimes it’s hard

To get into the groove

Sometimes it’s not wise

To jump in with both feet

Sometimes you’re ready to drive

But you’re not sure down what street

So when those times come

You can stay where you are

Or you can lean into it

And wish upon a star

Lean into what feels right

And if the feelings stray

Stand up straight

Or lean the other way

Lean into what you want

And see what happens when

Doors open and roadblocks move

Just because you leaned into them

When you lean you can learn

More about where you’re going

Then you can lean a little more

With confidence and knowing

That when you follow your purpose

And trust your intuition, too

You’ll find it’s easy to lean into

What’s important to you

Action

Action

Creates

Tremendous

Intentional

Outcomes

Now

Act As If…

Act as if you’ve made it

Act as if you are who you want to be

For acting as if is powerful

And can literally set you free…

From the prison you’ve creat3ed

With your own thoughts and beliefs

…often called your ‘comfort zone’

Though rarely does it bring relief…

From the pain or disappointment

That simply comes from knowing

You’re not where you want to be

Or perhaps you’ve just stopped growing

But act as if you could have

The life you’ve always dreamed of

And take steps every day

To embrace this feeling with love

So act as if…starting now

And when you act as if and do

Whatever it takes to get what you want

Your dreams will certainly come true

Imagine…Reality

What do you imagine?

What can you see in your mind?

Do you see in vivid colors

Or do you feel more like you’re blind?

Either way is perfect –

It’s the way you’re meant to be

Visualizing is more about feeling

The sensations of touch, taste, smell, feel & see

And when you imagine

You can engage your emotions

To create a memory in your mind

You can strive for with devotion

Because what you imagine…

What you visualize

Is no different than achieving it

In your mind’s eyes

So if there’s something you want

Close your eyes and see…

Feel it, Hear it, Taste it, Smell it, Sense it,

And imagine how your life will be

When you make what you imagine

…a reality

Comfortable Prison

Are you comfortable in your comfort zone

Or do you see and understand

That it’s really just a prison

Created by your own hands?

You train yourself to stay

Within limits you have created

By believing all the ‘can’ts’

That have ever been stated

And so you decide to stay

Within this ‘comfort zone’

Rather than pushing beyond it

Into the world unknown

Because it might cause discomfort

Or it might fill you with fear

But what kind of life will you live

If you’re restricted year after year?

So stop seeking comfort

Within your current zone

For when you step outside it

You’ll see that you have grown

Grow to be who you want

And live the life you desire

It’s easy if you keep taking the chance

Always pushing yourself higher

Use affirmations to imagine yourself

Achieving your goals and dreams

And when you realize what’s possible

‘Comfortable’ is not what it seems

It’s not good…

Like you’ve been led to believe

But merely a prison

You made & you can leave

A Father’s Love

A father’s love is special

And when his arms open wide

He fills his kids with so much

            Love and joy and pride

A father can say so much

With few or even no words

For his actions speak so loudly

            They can always be heard

A father figure is so important

And so much can be learned

From all he has to offer

That does not have to be earned

A father happily gives so much

            And plays quite easily, too

With children watching closely

            Learning from what they do

A father provides the foundation

            Of an empowered family

With his love – both gentle and strong

Where all feel safe and free

Success Leaves Clues

When you know what it is

Your life’s goal to do

It’s highly likely that in the world

Someone else has done it, too

So find that person

And ask their advice

Most often they’ll agree

~ Many times for no price

While you might not spend money

There’s a price that is still paid

For success is only achieved

When effort is made

That does not mean success

Is only achieved the hard way

~ If you’re following your passion

It will feel more like play

And it’s often more fun

When we play together

Encouraging and helping

Instead of alone trying to weather…

The storms that come up

And the obstacles, too

But when the storm clears

You’ll see that success leaves clues

Someone else can help you

With a second set of eyes

For they can see what you can’t

~ Often to your surprise

Where you may see only problems

They can see opportunities

And they will help keep you on track

~ Focused on the activities

Activities that will take you

Where you want to go…

And all along the journey

You’ll be encouraged as you grow

For in the end, success

Is measured not by what you achieve

But how well you really lived

According to what you believe

Daunting?

When what you want seems daunting

You might feel paralyzed

Not sure when, how, or if you should move

For your dreams to be realized

But they won’t happen on their own

You have to get into action

And every step, large or small

Brings with it some attraction

What you want will be attracted to you

More with each move you make

And each move can be determined

By mapping the steps you will take

With each goal you should know

Where you are & where you’re going

Then envision or ask or plan out

Everything you can, knowing…

That sometimes detours are helpful

And sometimes roadblocks appear

Sometimes we even sabotage ourselves

If we listen to our fears

Fear of failure or fear of success

Both fears are very real

And they can only be overcome

If you tap into what you feel

And realize the fear is imagined

Right now what you fear is fake

It hasn’t happened and it may not

But with each step that you take…

Listen to the feedback

And your course may have to change

But any goal worth having

Is worth what you must arrange

So map out the steps you’re going to take

And the tasks you’re going to do

And with every move you make

Remember to appreciate you

Acknowledge yourself for what you’ve done

And you’ll be encouraged to do more

And remembering the journey is more important

Than finally reaching the door
